The "swing vote paradox" is the idea that if we don't vote for one of the two major candidates, our vote would be lost. The problem I am having is with Obama having ideas of change that are too general and uncreative. It's easy for someone to speak in generalities and promise everything to everybody. I would gladly measure my concepts of change against his, if given the chance. But in our Nation, the average man doesn't get the chance. It is the "swing vote paradox" that keeps real change from actually happening. Ironically, the democrats that are voting for Obama, comprise less than 20% of the actual voting population. I am concerned about the actual change that will result from a man who doesn't have the support of the other 80% of the country. What I am proposing is a bottom up restoration of
Anyway, I don't agree with Huckabee and his stance on evolution, among other things. That ever presence reminder of dinosaurs makes many people question the creationist view. I am tolerant of people's beliefs that differ from mine, but the specter of a religious zealot crossing the line between church and state disturbs me. I know many Republicans that are voting for Huckabee in the Primary because of his deep moral convictions. As you know, after two administrations with Bush, this Nation is pretty conservative. I am glad to say that I am not. The only area I can say I am conservative is in my fiscal policy. Ironically, Huckabee's record in
McCain is worrisome to me as well. He seems to be in the back pocket of business, but, ironically, so do Hillary and Obama. The financial trail leads back to big money on all accounts. Do you see my dilemma? Who can I trust to govern this Nation, but myself? David Jon Sponheim

I applaud you for your effort. It's funny that this past week at work I was telling a coworker that we needed more choices for presidential nominees. I told him that I would probably end up writing-in my name in the general election.
Although I don't know vey much about you, I'll give you some thought. Of course, I'll have to remember how to spell your name correctly at the ballot.
I had also thought about writing-in either John Edwards or Ron Paul. I also liked Kucinich but don't know much about him either since he was hardly covered in the media.
Now if we could only rename the "cool rock" party (who came up with that?!).
Hi, I wish I could tell you the reason why we chose CoolRock, but it started with an effort to combine Politics with Music. Our goal is to activate the Youth Vote in the future. The Centrist Party told us that they won't support anyone who isn't in the mainstream Media. If you have any ideas, send us an Email at coolrockparty@gmail.com. Most importantly, you can Write-In my Name...David Jon Sponheim in the General Election. We are fielding Electors in every State. -DJS
